45 artists, 60 sculptures

Foundation ArtZuid, which has been nominated as the best neighborhood initiative by Amsterdam citizens, was born to showcase monumental urban design and make museum art accessible to a fresh audience of all ages and free of charge.

I took my daughter and dog for an art cycling tour to see what ArtZuid had to offer for this years theme "Engagement".

Art historian and former chief of the Rijksmuseum Professor Henk van Os is proud to present over 60 sculptures from 45 artists from 25 countries. Such as, Ai Weiwei, El Anatsui, Dinh Q. Lê, Pascale Marthine Tayou and Romuald Hazoumè.

Dutch artist Meijer-Bergmans' sculpture is called 'Burgerqueen' and represent a funky pole dancer in this high class neighborhood.

This huge underpants was made by Japanese artist Kenichi Ogawa, and had to be relocated because hotel guests from the Hilton hotel couldn't appreciate this fine piece of art.
