Rotterdam International Art Fair 2016 - Launched in a church

The Rotterdam International Art Fair kicked off, presenting art talent from across the world.

Have you ever seen an art fair in a church? Well, the venue for the Rotterdam International Art Fair is in none other than the St. Lawrence Church (in Dutch: De Laurenskerk). For those who are less familiar with the history of the city, this church is one of the few architectural pieces left from Rotterdam’s medieval times. Passionate about art myself, I was instantly curious and bought a ticket for the private viewing and vernissage on Friday. After all, what better way to spend a Friday evening than to admire art from painters, photographers, and sculptures from all over the world?

I arrived at the location a little over 7:00pm, got my complementary glass of champagne, and began to explore. Below are only a few of the impressions of the evening. It was inspiring and there is so much more to see!

Do you live in Rotterdam or nearby and have some free time? Then grab your fancy shoes and head to the church to see some art. It is still open this Saturday, the 10th of September from 11am to 6pm and it has a free entrance. For more information, read more here.

Stay inspired!
